You can come to Hotel Posada del Valle and do absolutely nothing, except to enjoy the scenery and breathe in the fresh air. But, we should ad, Asturias is a small province filled to the brim with things to see and do.

HIKING

The main activity our guests like to enjoy is the various walking opportunities available.

  • Picos de Europa (Western Massif), with excellent walks starting from the lakes up to Vega Ario above the Cares gorge or to the Mirador de Ordiales, 1000 meters above the Angon valley. There is also simpler circular walks around the lakes, walks at lower altitudes, or the classic Cares gorge.
  • Ponga Mountains. They are less well known but with magnificent scenery and excellent walks, such as the climb up to Pico Pierzu with absolutely stunning views, or through the Peloño beech forests and up to the Pico Zorro.
  • Sueve Mountains. This range where semi-wild Asturcon ponies roam wild, boasts excellent views of both the Picos and the coastline.
  • The Coastline. There are many lovely stretches of the coastline, which make for excellent walking from wild and rugged cliff tops to popular beach resorts.
Please enquire about hikes directly from the hotel.
