Promoting a sharing of ideas and information

Sharing information is one of the most important aspects of the work we do at Hotel Posada del Valle. We have a long-term objective of trying to show that diverse cropping systems and organic farming are a sustainable and viable alternative to "modern farming". We therefore hope these diverse cropping systems may become of more interest to other small producers, farmers and consumers in the area, and beyond. In 2010 we plan to have 2 farm "open days" where we will show and discuss with people; non hotel guests (and hotel guests if interested) what we are doing on the farm. The main emphasis will be on small scale vegetable production, but there will be the possibility to look at the orchard, meadows, chickens and sheep. The idea behind the open days is to share ideas and information and is focused towards people and communities interested in small scale and home production.
